# Nexus framework > [!note] > The word *Nexus* can have two different meanings depending on the context: > - the *Nexus framework*, as defined in the [[N1.2 Nexus Guide|Nexus Guide]], > - a group of [[1.5 Scrum Team|Scrum Teams]] working according to the Nexus framework. The Nexus framework is a scaled version of [[1.1 Scrum framework|Scrum]], defined in the [[N1.2 Nexus Guide|Nexus Guide]]. It was developed by Ken Schwaber (co-creator of [[1.1 Scrum framework|Scrum]]) and [Scrum.org](https://www.scrum.org/). Nexus is designed for 3 to 9 [[1.5 Scrum Team|Scrum Teams]] working on the same [[5.1 Product Goal|product]], forming the Nexus[^nexus-is-group]. The Nexus framework is one approach to work effectively in such situations. Nexus is not the only way to scale Scrum, there are other approaches like the Scrum of Scrums[^scrum-of-scrums] and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)[^safe].
